The SLES9 installation defaults can result in poor pSeries performance.
Why? SLES9 defaults the hostname to 'linux', which is not in /etc/hosts.
Post-Install Wordaround:
- Create a correct entry for 'linux' in /etc/hosts or;
- Change the hostname & create a matching entry in /etc/hosts
How-to Install While Avoiding This Problem:
- If your site uses DNS: Enter a valid hostname/address during installation. or;
- Enter a non-default hostname, SLES9 will put this hostname/address pair into /etc/hosts |
